A NEW WEB ERA BEGINS FOR GUINDY62-ites
Dear Guindy62-ites,
Our long cherished wish, nay, dream for a website solely for the Guindy62-ites to share their views, comments, opinions etc. on all the happenings of common interest is becoming a reality.
A website with the address http://guindy62.blogpost.com has been opened.
Please visit the website and start posting your views, to begin with, may be on this attempt
of using the latest media of 'blogging' as a tool for communication amongst us Guindy62-ites.
Let's keep using it regularly by visiting the site at least once a day. Only this can make this
blogging a success.
Cheers!
Shyam

Hi all,
At last, the website has clicked, thanks to blogging technology. As Nats says, we have to learn how to use this wonderful tool more and more creatively every day - we shouldn't be using it just for e-mailing purposes.
ONE THING WE CERTAINLY HAVE TO DO IS - OPEN THE BLOGSITE ATLEAST ONCE A DAY AND READ AND, IF POSSIBLE, CONTRIBUTE
Cheers

Dear friends, I have tried posting a photo to our blogsite - a photo titled "Cheenu and his better half checking out their future with 'kili joshyam' taken at Kovalam during the Grand Re-union in Dec 2002. Let me know if it has come out OK. Then I can explain how it is done.
Bye

Dear all,
I am sure you all would have liked the photo of Cheenu and his better half posted in our website.
Posting a photo is a bit involved but only for the first time.
What one needs to do is:
1 Go to www.blogger.com
2 At the bottom right, there is a question: Have you read help recently? Click on it.
3 Blogger Help window opens.
4 On the right side, under the heading 'Most Popular,'click on question 'How do I post pictures?' Click on it
5 Go through the article patiently. You have to click on
picasa and hello, two simple softwares and download them and save them in a suitable place, say, Directory D.
6 In short, picasa sorts all the digital photos in your PC in a beautiful and orderly fashion.
After downloading the soft ware and allowing picasa to sort your photos, try posting a photo in our website by opening hello.
Hello helps you to post the photos very, very fast, either in the blogsite or through e-mail.
E-mailing of multiple photos will be no more a headache (provided the friends at the other end also have picasa and hello downloaded.
Hence, all the Guindy62-ites must download these two soft wares.
Friends, this is a learning process and I guess we need lots of patience and perseverance.
All the best.
Cheers
Shyam

Good idea Nats.
If the mother is alive, the best thing would be to take her to a temple and have a pooja done for her health and long life. If not, one can observe a minute's silence and meditate on all the sacrifices she has made for us.

Natarajan,
I am myself new to this whole exercise of blogging. We have to do experiments and see how we could improve the usage. Posting of photos & invitation is all part of such trials.
But I do not think a blogsite can be as multi-purpose-friendly as a full fledged and regular website which, incidentally, would cost lot ot money to put up and maintain.
Let's first make the best use of what we got free. Even for this blogsite, the response from our friends is not all that overwhelming.
I plan to post one photo per day so that people who open the website regularly have something interesting to see. Thanks
Shyam

Hi Shyam,
Why donot u give the names of the individuals as given in picture29 so that it will be easy to identify the persons. The fellows with "big veebuthi pattai" &"big mustachi" could not be identified. So better to write names.

Dear Nats,
Nice to see the entire family in the photo taken on Mother's Day.
Chandra must be a proud and happy mother and verily, she deserves it every bit. (The words 'Mother's Day' make the whole thing very explicit and I think there was no need to explain the relationships - son, wife etc.!!)
Congratulations for your efforts in downloading picasa and hello for posting of the photos in the blogger.
Bye

Nats,The best way is- use 'end' button to go to the bottom of home page, click on comments and click on 'collapse comments' to shrink the comments and go to the last comment. I will still check out if there is a better way.I will again explain later on usage of 'hello'
Bye Shyam
